BONGA De-sanding project – October 2022

After almost one year in planning, and in conjunction with ALTRAD UK, ALTRAD Nigeria teams recently mobilised to BONGA FPSO to complete the de-sanding of major vessels prior to the 28-day TAM shutdown onboard.

Working very closely with SNEPCO - both onshore and offshore - management, and while facing many challenges, our team of UK operatives, supported by our own Nigerian PREZICON staff, managed to successfully complete the de-sanding project and to demobilise the equipment before the shutdown operation began.

Due to the success of the operation, SNEPCO have informed us that they would intend to use our services again on BONGA, hopefully in 2023.

Online de-sanding has only been trialed twice in Nigeria, and both projects were completed successfully by PREZICON, in partnership with ALTRAD UK. A great sign for the future!
