Work Experience

Estimating Manager

The Estimating Manager will oversee the analysis of the calls for tenders, the costing and the preparation of the technical and commercial proposals, in accordance with the norms and specifications and the expectations of the client. 

As an Estimating Manager, he should use cost estimation, project-based information, financial data, budgets and costs to accurately evaluate project costs and ensures that costs are maintained within budgetary limits. He monitors the financial progress of a project, computes on site operating fixed and variable project costs and compares such costs to budgets for proactive cost control reporting to the Project management team and executive management. 

Main Responsibilities  

  • Responsible for material take off and quantity estimation transmitted through BOQ by the client. 
  • Analyze all documents transmitted by client, context of the bid, their impact on the estimation and hypothesis to be taken. 
  • Should request quickly mandatory missing documents from client, as well as all clarifications needed. 
  • Inform Managing Director and commercial team about major points in the bid. 
  • Responsible for estimation related to all activities performed locally (painting, insulation, fireproofing, scaffolding, rope access, etc.) 
  • In charge of planning, cash curve, capex needed, organization chart during estimation. 
  • Cooperate with operation team regarding productivity ratio to be applied, organization to be considered with cost impact. 
  • Cooperate with all departments when needed to have the correct info, make sure all fields are covered (HR, QHSE, local content, legal and finance aspects, admin…) 
  • Make sure offer is compliant with the local content. 
  • Forward terms and conditions of client to Prezicon or Africa legal officer for review and comment. 
  • Challenge ratio given, and costs, and propose the best offer. 
  • Prepare technical and commercial offer and submit them before the deadline. 
  • Submit all documentation and appendixes required by client. 
  • Participate to client clarification meetings. 
  • Prepare summary presentation when needed for an efficient internal review before bid submission. 
  • Follow LOP bid review process of Altrad group. 
  • In case of project won, initiate a kickoff meeting with operation team and transfer properly assumptions, strategy and budget done during the estimation. 
  • Work under total confidentiality. 
  • Provide Project Cost estimation, planning & preliminary project budgets, and cost controlling support for all projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress to the preparation of customer billing processes, etc. 
  • Perform and manage project activity scheduling and monitoring. 
  • Perform technical and commercial review of EPCI long time tenders (subcontractor’s quotations) for the preparation of Service agreements. 
  • Coordinate and work with the project management team to pro-actively resolve project issues promptly to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work. 
  • Attend project meetings and discussions with the PMT and external clients. 
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as required by management. 
  • Maintains environmental, health and safety policies and program in line with Altrad goals.

HSE RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Actively participate in HSE activities, including toolbox meetings and HSE meetings.

Work Experience  

  • Minimum 5 years in relevant experience and similar capacity in project cost estimation and project cost control preferably in Offshore Construction/ EPIC Industry, painting, insulation, fabrication/ construction or Oil and Gas industry.

Person Specification Education and Training  

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Finance or Social Sciences with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training.
  • Technically strong in project estimation, cost planning, scheduling, reporting and writing ability. 
  • Knowledgeable in the use of MS Project, Primavera scheduling and SAP software is highly advantageous. 
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Mature, Proactive and resourceful. 
    • Independent worker who is able to work well with other with minimal supervision.

Project Control/Planner

Job Description 

The Project Planner will be responsible for planning and scheduling project workloads. Gather and analyzes information to prepare status reports. Ensures that assignment and scheduling of work follow company policy. Documents work orders and projects and closes them in scheduling systems.  Maintain schedules and keep project resources on track, provide regular project updates to project Manager/others, and maintain contact with staff to monitor job progress. The planner's mission is to draw up a schedule of interventions / work activities according to the needs of the project scope & deliverables. This schedule will be presented as appropriate to the job requirement (i.e., Daily) and have clear dates of execution and deadlines (i.e., Start/Finish). 

Main Responsibilities  

  • Work closely with Project/Site Manager to develop and maintain detailed resource loaded schedules using MS Project or Primavera. 
  • Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, base line, status and perform measurement baseline. 
  • Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports: Gantt, milestone charts, and other tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work, priority-based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost/schedule integration. 
  • Gather and analyze information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. Frequent on-site visits to review activity progress required. 
  • Support the project management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects, including dashboard maintenance. 
  • Work in collaboration with project management team to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting. 
  • Attend project meetings and discussions with the PMT and external clients. 
  • Maintain accurate records/paperwork. 
  • Combine the work activities sequencing as per Site Manager request to deliver the scope. 
  • Ensure manpower resources are planned effectively as per job schedule. 
  • Record “Standby” or down time by logging the information given by supervisor.

  • Prepare monthly project cost control report for the monitoring of the project activities daily and register all downtime, demobilizations, claims, consumptions and project related issues related to the project promptly to the project manager, Finance and management, to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget.

Mechanic

Main Responsibilities

  • Daily inspection of equipment on site to ensure optimized functionality.
  • Set up of all equipment around operation.
  • Carry out repair on any equipment on site as necessary.
  • Identify project issues and ensure that they are updated in the issues register.
  • Participate in Lessons Learnt sessions.
  • Perform other project specific tasks as may be assigned by Project Manager or Operations Manager.
  • Perform tasks on and offshore.
  • Keep equipment maintenance records and maintenance schedules.
  • Need to be able to operate and work on all equipment used on site including compressors, UHP, Blasting equipment, generators, manlifts, forklift, Vehicles, MC globe and Blastrac.
  • Keep company vehicles in roadworthy condition and services up to date.
  • Provide in-house training to junior mechanics and certify mechanics.
  • Travel to equipment suppliers for training needed on new equipment.
  • Provide support and advice to all mechanics on site.
  • Study equipment maintenance and repair manuals
  • Keep all records up to date and be responsible for mechanical audits.
